A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) was Depp’s debut film, immediately followed by Private Resort (1985), and, after graduation from acting classes at LA’s Loft Studio, Platoon (1986). After 1990’s self-parodying Cry Baby and quirky Edward Scissorhands, Depp was named "ShoWest’s Male Star of Tomorrow". In 1999, a Johnny Depp bronze star was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
